Eumundi School of Music

“The purpose of our school is to provide top quality music education to children aged Grade 3-8 and provide valuable paid work for local musicians in our area. In our 8 years we have provided free music education to over 150 kids, and in our last few years we have grown to include a Show Band and a Teenage Super Band for musos aged 13-17.

After donating a bunch of new instruments to the local school, I felt compelled to set up a little independent school as a way of giving back to community and fostering a love of music in young people.

I really believe in the vital importance of music education for all, regardless of whether you can afford it or not. I also believe in the power of music to help children discover their sense of confidence, self-love and their own sense of belonging and community.

Using mainly Aussie music, our program gives our kids vital tools for their mental health and well-being to help them navigate school and their journey into young adulthood with music as their friend.

I am honoured to work alongside our extraordinary team, especially our secretary Robyn, our treasurer Kerry and our awesome fundraising parents and sponsors, our wonderful School MD’s and teachers OJ Newcomb and Mark Moroney and our amazing Teen and Show Band MD and teacher Zac Hurren and our rad teachers Brett Newman, Brodie Graham and Jazzella Coogan” - Katie Noonan
